WHAT ARE THE ADOBE PROGRAMS

If you’re a designer, one brand name comes up very, very frequently, whether you love them or hate them. The Adobe programs are the industry standard and can be your best friend and help you achieve the unique design you have in your head. You may look at the list of programs and be like where do I start? Which one helps me achieve what I wanna do? Today I want to outline to you the main software you use as a designer and what their purposes are.
ILLUSTRATOR
Adobe Illustrator is a vector-based design program. When you create a design that is vector-based, it means that it can be scaled without losing any quality. This is especially important in logo design and graphics, where you must create various sizes and formats. This allows you to easily create these versions without worrying about depleting quality. PHOTOSHOP

Adobe Photoshop is a pixel-based design program, meaning that the quality of your images is affected when scaling and resizing. Photoshop is the go-to photo editing program, allowing you to make adjustments to photographs or composite photos together. Additionally, some artists use Photoshop as a digital art program, as there is a wide range of brushes and pressure sensitivity support with drawing tablets.
INDESIGN
Adobe InDesign is a print design program used to create layouts for books and presentations. You are able to create guides on your pages and flow text across to help create seamless multi-page designs. InDesign is most frequently used for book and magazine layout design due to these features and the ability to create templates that can be applied to numerous pages.
PREMIERE PRO
Adobe Premiere Pro is a video editing software that allows you to seamlessly composite video content. It is a go-to industry standard for film and video editing, allowing you to add audio, assets, and effects to your videos.
AFTER EFFECTS
Adobe After Effects is a motion graphics design software. Its primary focus is the transform assets such as logos and text to create fun and engaging animated content. With its library of transitions and effects, you are able to develop innovative and interactive content. Additionally, with its ability to nest videos within videos and its vertical timeline, you can organize you editing process to create innovative videos such as lyric videos and sports graphics.
CONCLUSION
There are many platforms created by Adobe, some of which I did not even mention today. Each has its own unique purpose while also having the ability to work together to create any type of content you could imagine. While these are the industry standards, there are other platforms that do similar/the same main features as the Adobe platforms; however, these are the main programs you are expected to know when working with clients or alongside other designers. Beyond the features these programs have that I mentioned, there are many more to explore that can help you achieve the creative projects you have envisioned.
